Dr. Yencho, a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor
Dr. Craig Yencho is announced as the next cohort of William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professors. It is the highest recognition the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences provides. The William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professorships are intended to recognize tenure-track faculty who are “great scholars, great teachers, great scientists and great interpreters,” having distinguished themselves in any area of research, teaching and/or extension in agriculture and/or the life sciences.

Under First Lady Michelle Obama, the White House kitchen garden has been expanded and reinvigorated to include a wide range of herbs, fruits, and vegetables. It serves to educate people, especially children, on the importance of good nutrition and the role that vegetables and fruits can play in improving health. Horticulture Students Receive Sir Walter Raleigh Award

Students in the HS 410 Construction Studio in collaboration with NCSU Grounds Management and Landscape Construction Services, designed and built the Polk Hall Heat-Mitigation Garden on the NCSU campus. They have received a Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Appearance and a merit award from the North Carolina American Society of Landscape Architects. Landscape. In addition, architecture firms have contacted us to request construction specifications and details of our innovative heat dissipation system. Landscape Architecture Magazine has also published an article on this innovative project in the September 2014 issue in the NOW section.
