Kathryn Wall – JCRA Membership and Volunteer Coordinator
Kathryn has extensive experience with managing volunteers and membership creation. She has a BA in journalism and is an avid gardener and member of the NRUMC Community Garden. Welcome Kathryn!
Allison Ballantyne – Extension Assistant with the Pesticide Safety Education Program
Allison comes to us from Columbus, Ohio and previously served as a plant health specialist and inspector for the Ohio Department of Agriculture. She has a BS in plant biology from Ohio University and is also a certified yoga instructor. Welcome Allison!
Sheila Neal – Project Coordinator for CEFS ‘NC Choices’ Initiative
Sheila brings her passion and experience with the food industry to her new position with NC Choices. Sheila owns a deli, attended French culinary School, and has worked at Whole Foods and the Carrboro Farmers’ Market. Welcome Sheila!
Emily Edmonds – Project Manager for CEFS ‘North Carolina Growing Together’ Project Extension & Outreach
Emily earned her Master of Public Administration degree from UNC and was an NC Public Service Leaders’ Fellow. She has been involved in public service for most of her professional life. She will join Dr. Rebecca Dunning on the North Carolina Growing Together Project. Welcome Emily!
Emily Peters – JCRA Facility & Rental Coordinator
Emily comes to us with abundant event planning, scheduling, and logistics experience. She received her BS in Communications from NC State. Her arrival is eagerly anticipated by JCRA. Welcome Emily!

Faye Koonce – JCRA Facilities Coordinator
Faye is retiring this month after over 44 years of service to NC State University. She is a beloved member of the JCRA team and will be greatly missed. Please take a moment to share your best wishes with Faye. All the best Faye!!
Meri Reeber – Research Technician, Sweetpotato Breeding Program
Meri has decided to leave NC State to pursue other opportunities. Meri has been a driving force behind the explosive growth of the Yencho research program and it is with bittersweet thoughts that we wish her a bon voyage. Safe travels Meri!
