Amy Borsay, Master of Horticultural Science Graduate Student, was awarded the Iron Mike Award for volunteer service with the Tranquility Garden at the Warrior Transition Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC. The Iron Mike Award is a prestigious award that all military branches use to recognize and thank volunteers. Borsay has developed a restorative landscape design for the Tranquility Garden to assist soldiers with mental and emotional recovery from primarily non-combat and training related injuries and disease, and ease the transition to either civilian life or return to duty.
